Fokiano – Red wine – Ikaria
Vinification: Classic red vinification process in stainless steel containers and aging inside them for 12 months. Wild indigenous yeast fermentation with controlled temperature and recycling for 3 times a day; bottled unfiltered & unfined; without any addition of sulfites. Best consumed after 8 years of aging.
A classic Fokiano with bright red color, fine scents of flowers and red fruit, smooth tannins and a rich, well-balanced taste. Crimson dark color with long lasting legs. Complex nose consisting of ripe red,black fruits and pistachio. Rich & warm taste with soft tannins; flavors of wild strawberry, black mulberry and carob on the tongue . Soft & long-lasting aftertaste.
Food Pairing : Fat yellow cheeses, traditional dishes that combine red meats and mild tastes and red sauces.
